Subtle, but still funny

So Gov Schwarzenegger had a motorcycle accident this weekend. While riding with his pre-teen son in a side car he ran into a car that had backed into the street (at low speed).

Everyone is fine, although the Gov has more than a dozen stitches in his lip the AP said the following:

"The left side of the governor's upper lip was swelled and puffy but didn't affect his speech or appear to cause much pain."

Um, seriously, did we understand that much of what he said before?
